
Each generation of gaming brings with it a new and interesting brand of titles, and one of the most recent breakout indie genres has been survival gaming.


Then more recently, there have been innumerable games in mainstream and indie gaming that have offered vast open worlds to explore. In the 2000’s we were inundated with platformers with budding anthropomorphic mascots, then the early 2010s were dominated largely by dark 2D side scrollers like Limbo and Braid and Walking Simulators like Journey.
